Quickfox Publishing is a small, dynamic team of multi-skilled publishing professionals. Our project management office, based in Cape Town, oversees every project that comes through our doors, offering hands-on personal service to each client, and strong attention to detail on all projects.
Due to the specialised nature of each aspect of production and printing, we use editorial freelancers, publishing consultants, designers and print suppliers from South Africa and abroad, enabling us to handle a large variety of projects whilst maintaining an exceptionally high level of workmanship and expertise, all geared to the specific project at hand.

Vanessa, founder and General Manager of Quickfox Publishing, has a design and production background of 29 years. She has freelanced for South Africa’s largest publishers as a production specialist, working on most genres, including educational and academic books. As an author who has successfully published independently, she understands the challenges and rewards when going the independent route. She has immense experience in all aspects of indie publishing, from both a business and production point of view. Her expertise includes design, book production, ebook publishing, litho and digital printing, financial costing, marketing and distribution. When she’s not working she’s tasting the Fair Cape’s excellent wines or can be found online researching and learning all manner of things. The internet is her oyster.

Lindsay joined Quickfox at the beginning of 2017 as a publishing intern and has proven herself invaluable to the team and the day-to-day workings of the company. With a degree in English Literature and further studies in translation under way, Lindsay’s passion for books and publishing, and her outstanding customer service and attention to detail, ensure that clients are well looked after. Lindsay wears many hats: project manager, admin manager, and front-of-house customer service consultant. When she’s not working she’s tallying up cricket scores, checking her Banting grocery list and playing games involving quizzes and trivia.

Georgina, is a multi award-winning journalist whose career in publishing began when she was just 14 and became a youth correspondent for her community newspaper. Since then, she has gained extensive experience in newspaper and radio journalism as well as magazine and book publishing. Her resume includes 5 years as Publishing Director at Struik Publishers (now Random-Struik) and a position as general manager of Independent Newspapers’ property publishing division. Georgina brings a wealth of knowledge and creative ability to Quickfox Publishing and particularly enjoys editorial consulting and coaching, as well as manuscript development assistance and evaluation.

Michelle has had extensive experience in the media industry, having worked as Editor, Features Editor and Editorial Manager/Director on some of South Africa’s household-name magazines and corporate publications. Bringing her corporate communications and branding knowledge to the table, Michelle is able to tackle a wide variety of projects with insight, expertise, and sharp business acumen. She has also freelanced as an editor and project manager for major book publishers, and in addition to her editorial and manuscript evaluation work for Quickfox, she currently manages an independent team of editors, translators and copywriters. When Michelle is not working she’s spending time with the apples of her eye, whipping up MasterChef-type meals, and beating everyone at Trivial Pursuit.

Rachel is a long-standing member of the Quickfox team and holds the honours of being our very first editorial manager, having shared the Quickfox vision of empowering self-publishing authors since the company’s inception. Rachel has 30 years’ experience as a writer, editor and editorial project manager and currently freelances for a variety of clients, including South Africa’s largest educational and academic publishing houses and an international online training company. She is the published author of numerous computer applications and information technology textbooks, a novel and a self-help book. Her enquiring mind draws her to a variety of subjects, however, she particularly enjoys working on computer, IT, self-help, spiritual and health-related books. When she’s not working she’s entertaining her cats or fighting the forces of evil in Witcher, Divinity and Assassin’s Creed.
